Apricot Magazine reviewed Dark New Days and didn’t hold back. On the EP overall: “Blueprint Tokyo at their most emotionally precise and their most difficult to dismiss.” And: “Dark New Days is the record that establishes they have something more durable than range, which is a genuine point of view.”
They had sharp things to say about individual tracks too. On Just Repeat Myself: “The title is not self-pity but self-awareness.” On Nite Valerie: “A specific name, a specific hour, a specific quality of attention to one thing carries more weight than a wide gesture would.”
