Behind the Scenes: Why We Switched Email Platforms

Staying in touch with fans and friends means everything to us. Whether it’s letting you know when we’re playing in your city or giving you early access to new music, having a solid contact list is key.

We recently made the move from Mailchimp to EmailOctopus. There are a lot of email tools out there, but what sold us on this one was simple:

  • The interface is clean and easy to use
  • It integrates smoothly with our website and web store
  • Most importantly—it keeps our costs in check

Surprisingly, email can get expensive. Reliable email? Even more so. We tried 4 or 5 other services before settling on this one. Most were bloated, overly complex, or just plain pricey. EmailOctopus gave us the control we needed without draining the budget.

Our fans are what keep this whole thing moving. When we play in Texas, we want our Texas people to know. When we release something new, we want it in your inbox—not lost in the feed.

You don’t usually hear much about the tech behind what we do, but we’ve been taking stock of just how connected everything is—our site, store, socials, newsletter—all working together to help share what we’re building.

We’d love for you to be a part of it. Stay in the loop at https://blueprinttokyo.com/newsletter/
